Let’s define a Great Vacation
It is understood and widely accepted that when you plan and book a vacation package that you will almost certainly have an experience other then what was advertised. Unfortunately this often means less then great accommodations or perhaps the facilities like a pool or Hotel-Resort support service is down for repairs or otherwise inaccessible.
It probably simply means you’re going to spend more money then what you expect based on your understanding of the overall vacation package.
As the travel and vacation industry continues to mature and more companies providing recreational travel enter the travel service arena this competition against the traditional Big 5 vacation package providers is beneficial to us, the consumers.
Many forward thinking travel companies have begun to set a new trend in travel making our vacation experiences a lot more affordable and a lot more predictable. This trend reflects the efforts of some groups to provide the best 4 and 5 Star vacations at wholesale or better prices..
These companies and one in particular, are providing very high quality vacations for fewer costs then would be normal by applying the bulk Buy and Sell principle of marketing. That means they provide quality vacations well within the financial reach of most everyone consistently whether you’re looking for a tropic cruise or an Australian outback adventure or an all inclusive stay at a top resort.
Logically most people don’t care where they buy their vacation and brand loyalty does not really exist – The ‘Billion’ dollar travel corporations are spending literally billions of dollars in advertizing annually to fight for our attention but they have disappointed us like most all big corporations have. They rely on branding and flashy ads but their customer service is about as bad as it can be. That’s where the rubber hits the road.
Travel consumers are just looking for the best trip at the best price. In fact, on average, consumers will look at 3 websites before booking their travel. Some more then less. Personally I watched my wife in the past spend days searching the web for the best vacation for our family. And in the end we still calculated an additional 30% into every trip knowing we would need it.
And here’s what travel consumers want:
- More vacation selections
- Better vacation selections
- Cheaper prices
- Easy and friendly booking sites
- No reservation hassles
- No hidden fees and charges
